Alucarsia is a kingdom. It stretches from the sprawling, massive Amayyas Mountains in the north to the edges of the southern wastes. Since the fall of the Old Exekian Empire, the region has been almost exclusively populated by humans, who refer to themselves as the Alucar.
The name of the country is Old Exekian in origin, meaning "dragon land". King Cassius Stirling I, who was the first ruler to style himself as a king, was known as Alucaris, or "dragon king" to the Exekians.
Alucarsia consists of three regions: the Industrial North, the Farmers' South, and the East Traders.
The North is a semi-lawless area populated exclusively by humans, mostly in small self-contained villages or in the only major city, Zemar. The region is humid, almost tropical, and the further north you go the more swampy it becomes. Exekians don’t fare well in such a warm climate. "Rust dog" is a common slur against northerners, referring to the heavy industry Zemar is known for.
The South is predominantly agricultural, and includes the ancient city of Bodai. The island of Kataru is sometimes included in the South. The people are considered old-fashioned and backwards.
The East is focused on trade through seafaring, using the Antoi river to move goods throughout the area. Tyre and Hiberia are the two major cities. The climate is more temperate; it is considered a moderate zone, capable of supporting both humans and Exekians. Regardless, all of Alucarsia is currently run by the humans, who have sought to drive the Exekians out.
