Lord Hugh Zosimus was a human nobleman from the city of Tyre. With his wife Sibylla Andronikos, he had two sons, Stephen and Gavin Zosimus, the latter of which would inherit his estate.

Hugh was described by his peers as one who lived a "hollow" life, immersing himself in physical pleasures and focusing on making as much money as possible. It is implied he was a womanizer and a heavy drinker. Despite this, he is credited as a self-made man, having made his family the richest in the kingdom.

He committed suicide when Gavin was fourteen years old by throwing himself into the river, where he drowned.
